तस्मै प्रयाचमानाय न देये कुण्डले त्वया । अनुनेय: परं शक्‍्त्या श्रेय एतद्धि ते परम्‌,“उनके माँगनेपर तुम उन्हें अपने दोनों कुण्डल दे न देना। यथाशक्ति अनुनय-विनय करके उन्हें समझा देना; इससे तुम्हारा परम मंगल होगा

tasmai prayācamānāya na deye kuṇḍale tvayā | anuneyaḥ paraṁ śaktyā śreya etaddhi te param ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “If he comes begging, you must not give him your two earrings. Instead, with all the persuasion and respectful entreaty you can muster, try to dissuade him; for this course is your highest welfare.”
