Yudhiṣṭhira said: “Having worshipped you, and their wishes thus fulfilled, the foremost Vidyādharas quickly draw near to you, bearing garlands of celestial mandāra flowers. In the same way, other divine orders—Guhyakas, the various classes of Pitṛs, and the godlike sages—attain exalted states through your adoration. The Vasus, Maruts, Rudras, Sādhyas, and the perfected seers such as the Vālakhilyas, who drink your rays, have become pre-eminent among beings by worshipping you alone.”

Educational Q&A

Reverent worship of the divine is portrayed as a direct cause of spiritual success: even exalted celestial orders attain higher status and fulfillment through devoted adoration, implying that merit and elevation come from disciplined reverence rather than mere birth or power.

Yudhiṣṭhira praises the divine addressee by listing celestial beings—Vidyādharas and other divine classes—who approach after worship with mandāra garlands and who attain superior states through that worship, emphasizing the addressee’s supreme worthiness and the efficacy of devotion.
