यम उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical power of steadfast devotion and righteous conduct: when dharma is upheld—here embodied in Sāvitrī’s unwavering love and resolve—life, hope, and moral order are restored, and gratitude naturally turns toward the virtuous.
After losing consciousness, the man revives and, filled with affection, repeatedly looks at Sāvitrī as one would upon returning from a long separation, and then begins to speak to her—marking the turning point after Yama’s intervention in the Sāvitrī–Satyavān episode.
