एवमस्त्विति सावित्री ध्यानयोगपरायणा । मनसा ता गिर: सर्वा प्रत्यगृह्नात् तपस्विनाम्,सावित्रीने ध्यानयोगमें स्थित हो तपस्वियोंकी उस आशीर्वादमयी वाणीको “एवमस्तु (ऐसा ही हो)! कहकर मन-ही-मन शिरोधार्य किया
evam astv iti sāvitrī dhyānayogaparāyaṇā | manasā tā giraḥ sarvā pratyagṛhṇāt tapasvinām ||
Markandeya said: “So be it,” Savitri—steadfast in the discipline of meditation—accepted in her heart all those blessing-laden words spoken by the ascetics, taking them as an inward vow and sacred assurance.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined receptivity: blessings and counsel from the spiritually accomplished bear fruit when received with inner steadiness (dhyāna-yoga) and affirmed with sincere resolve (“evam astu”).
In Markandeya’s narration, Savitri—absorbed in meditative discipline—responds “So be it” and inwardly accepts the ascetics’ auspicious words, treating them as a sacred assurance to be carried in her mind.
