अद्य तद्‌ दिवसं चेति हुत्वा दीप्तं हुताशनम्‌ । युगमात्रोदिते सूर्ये कृत्वा पौर्वाह्निकी: क्रिया:,दूसरे दिन यह सोचकर कि आज ही वह दिन है, उसने सूर्यदेवके चार हाथ ऊपर उठते- उठते पूर्वाह्नकालके सब कृत्य पूरे कर लिये और प्रज्वलित अग्निमें आहुति दी

adya tad divasaṃ ceti hutvā dīptaṃ hutāśanam | yugamātrodite sūrye kṛtvā paurvāhṇikīḥ kriyāḥ ||

Mārkaṇḍeya said: “Thinking, ‘Indeed, today is that very day,’ he offered oblations into the blazing sacred fire. When the sun had risen only a short while, he completed all the prescribed forenoon rites.” The verse highlights disciplined observance of daily dharma—timely ritual action performed with focused resolve, as if the decisive moment has arrived.
