ततत्ते ब्रह्मणा प्रोक्ते तथेति वचने तदा
tataḥ te brahmaṇā prokte tatheti vacane tadā
Then, when Brahmā had spoken those words to you, you replied at that moment, “So be it,” accepting his instruction and assenting to the divine ordinance.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical posture of accepting rightful divine or authoritative instruction—responding with clear assent (“tathā iti”) to uphold cosmic and moral order (dharma).
Mārkaṇḍeya recounts a moment where Brahmā speaks a directive or teaching, and the addressed person responds immediately with agreement—“So be it”—signaling acceptance and readiness to act accordingly.
