Adhiratha-Rādhā Discover the Casket; Vasuṣeṇa (Karṇa) is Adopted and Formed
मार्कण्डेय उवाच तमुवाच पिता भूय: प्रहृष्टो भरतर्षभ । गच्छायो ध्यां प्रशाधीति राम॑ रक्तान्तलोचनम्
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca: tam uvāca pitā bhūyaḥ prahṛṣṭo bharatarṣabha | gacchāyodhyāṃ praśādhīti rāmaṃ raktāntalocanam ||
Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then his father, again filled with joy, said to him, “O bull among the Bharatas, go to Ayodhyā and take up the rule.” Thus he addressed Rāma, whose eyes were reddened at the corners—suggesting deep emotion even as duty was being placed upon him.
