दशरथ उवाच प्रीतो5स्मि वत्स भद्गं ते पिता दशरथो<स्मि ते । अनुजानामि राज्यं च प्रशाधि पुरुषोत्तम,दशरथजी बोले--वत्स! मैं तुम्हारा पिता दशरथ हूँ, तुमपर बहुत प्रसन्न हूँ, तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। पुरुषोत्तम! मैं तुम्हें आज्ञा देता हूँ कि अब तुम अयोध्याका राज्य करो
daśaratha uvāca—prīto ’smi vatsa bhadraṁ te pitā daśaratho ’smi te | anujānāmi rājyaṁ ca praśādhi puruṣottama ||
Daśaratha said: “My child, I am pleased with you. May good befall you. I am your father, Daśaratha. I grant you leave to assume the kingship—govern the realm, O best of men.”
दशरथ उवाच
Legitimate rule is framed as a dharmic duty: authority is conferred with blessing and consent, and the ruler is urged to govern (praśādhi) responsibly for the welfare of the realm.
Daśaratha identifies himself as the father and, pleased with his son, blesses him and formally authorizes him to take up and administer the kingship.
