Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then the mighty Aṅgada, acting as an envoy by Śrī Rāmacandra’s command, arrived at the gateway of Laṅkā. His coming was reported to the lord of the Rākṣasas (Rāvaṇa). After permission was granted, he entered the city without fear. Moving amid countless Rākṣasas, Aṅgada shone like the sun surrounded by masses of clouds—radiant, steady, and undaunted in the performance of his duty.
