Kosaleṇdram athāgamya sarvam āvedya vānaraḥ | viśaśrāma sa tejasvī rāghaveṇābhinanditaḥ ||
Having gone to the lord of Kosala (Rāma) and reported everything, the monkey (envoy) rested. That radiant hero was warmly commended by Rāghava—an episode that underscores the ethic of faithful service: a messenger who speaks truthfully and completes his duty is to be honored, and rightful leadership recognizes and rewards such dharmic conduct.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct in communication and leadership: a messenger should convey the full truth without omission, and a righteous leader should acknowledge and honor faithful service. Such mutual integrity strengthens collective resolve in times of conflict.
A Vānara envoy returns to Rāma, reports all that occurred (in the enemy court, per the surrounding story), receives Rāma’s commendation, and then rests after completing his mission.
