Sūrya’s Counsel to Karṇa on Indra’s Intended Request
Kuṇḍala–Kavaca Discourse
तत्रानशनसंकल्पं कृत्वा5डसीना वयं तदा । ततः कथान्ते गृध्रस्य जटायोरभवत् कथा,“अन्तमें अनशन करके प्राण त्याग देनेका संकल्प लेकर हम सब लोग वहाँ बैठ गये। फिर आपसमें बातचीत होने लगी और बीचमें जटायुका प्रसंग छिड़ गया
tatrānaśana-saṅkalpaṁ kṛtvā āsīnā vayaṁ tadā | tataḥ kathānte gṛdhrasya jaṭāyor abhavat kathā ||
There, having resolved to undertake a fast unto death, we all sat down. Then, as our conversation unfolded, the topic turned to the vulture Jatāyu, and his story arose in the midst of our talk.
