Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Then he saw the dust-cloud of that army, kicked up by the blows of horses’ hooves. And he also saw the priest Dhaumya moving amid the foot-soldiers, repeatedly crying out, “Bhīma! Run—charge forward!” The scene signals urgency and righteous resolve: the trusted preceptor’s call becomes a moral summons to swift action in the face of an aggressor’s force.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights decisive action guided by rightful counsel: in moments of crisis, dharmic response is not passive—one must act swiftly when duty and protection of the wronged demand it, especially when urged by a trusted moral authority.

A dust-cloud rises from an approaching army, churned up by horses’ hooves. Amid the infantry, the priest Dhaumya is seen urgently shouting to Bhīma to run forward and charge, indicating imminent confrontation and the need for immediate pursuit.
