Yudhiṣṭhira said: “Lady, step back and restrain your speech. Do not utter harsh and improper words here before us about Draupadī. Those who, intoxicated by their strength, commit such blameworthy acts—whether they are kings or princes—will surely be deprived of life and honor.”
युधिछिर उवाच
Even when wronged, one should restrain harsh speech; justice must be pursued without descending into abusive or improper words, and power-driven wrongdoing leads to loss of honor and life.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a woman respectfully but firmly, asking her to step back and stop speaking harshly about Draupadī; he then declares that those who committed the disgraceful act in pride of strength—whether kings or princes—will inevitably face severe retribution.
