Arrival of Mārkaṇḍeya and Counsel on Truth-Vows
वैशम्पायन उवाच ततस्ते ब्राह्मणा: सर्वे बक॑ दाल्भ्यमपूजयन् । युधिष्टिरे स्तूयमाने भूय: सुमनसो5भवन्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तदनन्तर युधिष्ठिरकी बड़ाई करनेपर उन सब ब्राह्मगोंने बकका आदर-सत्कार किया और उन सब ब्राह्मणोंका चित्त प्रसन्न हो गया
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: tatas te brāhmaṇāḥ sarve bakaṃ dālbhyam apūjayan | yudhiṣṭhire stūyamāne bhūyaḥ sumanasaḥ abhavan |
Vaiśampāyana said: Thereafter, all those brāhmaṇas honored Baka Dālbhyā. And as Yudhiṣṭhira was being praised, their hearts became even more pleased—showing how reverence for the worthy and appreciation of righteous conduct naturally foster harmony and goodwill among the learned.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Honoring the worthy and sincerely praising righteous conduct strengthens collective goodwill; ethical excellence (as embodied by Yudhiṣṭhira) naturally elicits joy and reverence among the learned.
After Yudhiṣṭhira is praised, the assembled brāhmaṇas pay respect to Baka Dālbhyā, and their minds become even more pleased, indicating a moment of communal approval and reverence.
