Educational Q&A

The verse highlights royal power and counsel: a king enthroned among kin is immediately shaped by advisers. Ethically, it foreshadows how loyalty and ambition can steer decision-making, raising questions of dharma in political counsel.

Duryodhana takes his seat on the principal throne, surrounded by his brothers. Karṇa then rises and begins to speak to him, introducing a forthcoming speech or advice that will influence the Kaurava course of action.
