Koṭikāśya’s Inquiry to the Radiant Woman near the Kadamba (कोटिकाश्यप्रश्नः)
parābhavo mā bhaviṣyat kurudāreṣu sarvaśaḥ |
Duryodhana said: “Let there not be any humiliation at all for the women of the Kuru house. May you be well—release the king along with his queens, lest the women of the Kuru lineage come to be dishonoured.”
दुर्योधन उवाच
Even amid hostility and power-struggles, the dishonour of women and the public humiliation of a noble household is presented as an ethical boundary; preserving kula-maryādā (family dignity) is treated as a dharmic concern.
Duryodhana urges that the king be freed together with his queens, expressing anxiety that the Kuru women might suffer disgrace; he frames the action as preventing a stain on the Kuru family’s reputation.
