Vaiśampāyana said: “O daughter of Drupada, you will soon see this earth established under Yudhiṣṭhira’s rightful rule—after the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra have been struck down and the old enmities have been fully repaid. Thus will your husbands attain victory, completing the hard moral reckoning demanded by past wrongs.”

Educational Q&A

The verse frames the coming victory as a restoration of rightful order: wrongs generate consequences, and when dharma is violated, justice may require decisive action. It also links political legitimacy (Yudhiṣṭhira’s rule) with moral reckoning (the repayment of long-standing enmity).

Vaiśampāyana addresses Draupadī, predicting that she will soon witness the defeat of Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons and the settling of prior hostilities, culminating in the earth/kingdom coming under Yudhiṣṭhira’s sovereignty through her husbands’ victory.
