vaiśampāyana uvāca | satyabhāmā tataḥ tatra svajitvā drupadātmajām | uvāca vacanaṁ hṛdyaṁ yathābhāvaṁ samāhitam ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Then Satyabhāmā, there, having embraced the daughter of Drupada, spoke sweet and heart-pleasing words, composed and attentive, expressing her feelings just as they truly were. The scene underscores courteous conduct and sincere speech between noble women, where affection is joined with self-restraint and mindful expression.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights ethical speech: words should be heart-pleasing yet truthful to one’s real intent (yathābhāvam), and delivered with composure and attentiveness (samāhitam).
Satyabhāmā greets Draupadī warmly by embracing her, then begins speaking to her in a sweet, heartfelt, and focused manner, setting the tone for a respectful and intimate exchange.
