Educational Q&A

The verse highlights gṛhastha-dharma and kinship responsibility: ensuring food and clothing for those under one’s care is a continuous duty, and noble families express dharma through practical service and attentive support rather than mere words.

Vaiśampāyana reports that the speaker’s father-in-law regularly oversees arrangements for food and clothing, while the Yādava clans—especially Balarāma and others among the Andhakas and Vṛṣṇis—actively attend to the well-being and comfort of the concerned persons.
