सात्राजिती याज्ञसेनीं रहसीदं सुमध्यमा । केन द्रौपदि वृत्तेन पाण्डवानधितिष्ठसि,कुरुकुल और यदुकुलसे सम्बन्ध रखनेवाली अनेक विचित्र बातें उनकी चर्चाकी विषय थीं। भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णकी प्यारी पटरानी सत्राजितकुमारी सुन्दरी सत्यभामाने एकान्तमें द्रौपदीसे इस प्रकार पूछा--'शुभे! ट्रुपदकुमारि! किस बर्तावसे तुम हृष्ट-पुष्ट अंगोंवाले तथा लोकपालोंके समान वीर पाण्डवोंके हृदयपर अधिकार रखती हो? किस प्रकार तुम्हारे वशमें रहते हुए वे कभी तुमपर कुपित नहीं होते?

sātrājitī yājñasenīṁ rahasīdaṁ sumadhyamā | kena draupadi vṛttena pāṇḍavān adhitiṣṭhasi ||

Vaiśampāyana said: Satyabhāmā, the daughter of Satrājit, spoke privately to Yājñasenī (Draupadī), the slender-waisted lady: “O Draupadī, by what conduct do you hold sway over the Pāṇḍavas? By what manner of living do those heroic men—strong-limbed and like the guardians of the world—remain under your influence, never growing angry with you?”
