Markandeya said: Thus have I recounted to you those sacred fires—great-souled in their power and purpose. The passage underscores that cosmic forces like Agni are not merely physical flames but venerable agencies that uphold creation and order when rightly invoked and understood.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
That Agni (fire) is to be regarded as a venerable, order-sustaining power; understanding and honoring such forces is part of dharma, especially in ritual, creation-myth contexts, and disciplined conduct.
Mārkaṇḍeya concludes a description/listing of various sacred fires (Agnis), stating that he has now recounted them—serving as a closing line to the preceding account.
