Mārkaṇḍeya said: “Freed from all taints, sinless, and wholly pure, blazing with radiant flame—such was that Agni. From him was born another Agni named Satya, likewise without sin, who establishes and upholds the dharma of proper order and right conduct.”

Educational Q&A

The verse praises inner and outer purity (freedom from kaluṣa, ‘taint’) as the basis for luminous power, and links truth (Satya) with the maintenance of samaya-dharma—right order, proper observance, and ethical regulation.

Mārkaṇḍeya continues a genealogical-cosmological account of divine fires: he describes a sinless, radiant Agni and states that from him is born another Agni named Satya, characterized as an upholder/establisher of the dharma of proper order.
