Adhyāya 22: Śālva’s Weapon-Shower, Dāruka’s Wounding, and the Māyā-Report of Vasudeva’s Father

Vāyu-deva said: “Destroy Saubha by your own might, and also those enemies of mine who are there.” Having spoken thus, in wrath and relying on the strength of his arms, he dispatched that weapon toward it. The episode frames divine force as a sanctioned response to hostile aggression: the act is not mere violence, but the removal of a fortified threat and its occupants who have become enemies through their deeds.

Vāyu commands a weapon to destroy Saubha and the enemies within it, then personally launches the weapon with the strength of his arms, initiating an assault on the fortified aerial stronghold.
