The Deity said: Those who are wise and steadfast worship Me alone, constantly keeping their mind on Me. Peace is their chosen refuge; they are self-restrained and eager to know the truth. Free from the impulses of desire, anger, and hatred, they are without attachment, sinless, and established in purity. Ever devoid of ego, and skilled in the knowledge of the Self, such ascetics and brahmins continually contemplate Me and live in devoted worship. The teaching sets devotion within an ethical discipline: inner mastery, non-attachment, and self-knowledge are presented as the marks of true worship.
