Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “O best of kings, for the accomplishment of your purpose two heroes are ever engaged in effort—Kṛṣṇa, whose banner bears Garuḍa, and the foremost of warriors Sātyaki, the grandson of Śini. Kṛṣṇa is unmatched in strength; and I too, O excellent ruler, am not inferior in power. For your sake they would not shrink even from battling the gods, and they stand ready to secure your righteous aim.”

Educational Q&A

Righteous aims (dharma) are to be pursued with steadfast support, courage, and loyal alliance; true strength is shown in readiness to act for a just cause without fear, even against overwhelming opponents.

Vaiśaṃpāyana reports words of reassurance to the king: Kṛṣṇa (Garuḍa-bannered) and Sātyaki (Śini’s grandson) are actively committed to accomplishing his objective, with Kṛṣṇa incomparable in strength and the speaker also declaring his own capability and readiness.
