Vaiśampāyana said: Mounted upon that (chariot) by which Indra—the slayer of Namuci, son of Diti—had destroyed seven companies of Dānava foes, the Pāṇḍavas approached the famed vehicle of Indra and, with undaunted hearts and noble intent, circumambulated it in reverent acknowledgment of divine protection and righteous power.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights reverence toward righteous, divinely sanctioned power: the Pāṇḍavas honor Indra’s chariot—an emblem of dharmic victory—by pradakṣiṇā, showing humility, gratitude, and alignment with dharma rather than mere fascination with force.

The Pāṇḍavas approach Indra’s famed chariot (associated with Indra’s defeat of Namuci and the Daityas) and circumambulate it respectfully, indicating awe and veneration for the divine instrument connected with past victories over adharma.
