Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
तत: सम्प्राप्य शैलाग्रं वीक्षमाणा महारथा: । ददृशुस्ते महेष्वासा भीमसेनमरिंदमा:,तदनन्तर शत्रुओंका दमन करनेवाले वे महाधनुर्धर एवं महारथी वीर उस पर्वतके शिखरपर पहुँचकर जब इधर-उधर दृष्टिपात करने लगे, तब उन्हें भीमसेन दिखायी दिये
tataḥ samprāpya śailāgraṃ vīkṣamāṇā mahārathāḥ | dadṛśus te maheṣvāsā bhīmasenam ariṃdamāḥ ||
Then, having reached the mountain’s summit, those great chariot-warriors—mighty archers and subduers of foes—looked about in all directions, and there they beheld Bhīmasena. The scene underscores vigilant resolve: strength is guided by alert perception and purposeful seeking rather than blind aggression.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that true martial strength is paired with vigilance and discernment: the heroes first survey their surroundings from a vantage point and only then identify their objective (Bhīmasena), suggesting purposeful action guided by awareness.
A group of elite warriors reaches a mountain peak, scans the area, and spots Bhīmasena. The narration (by Vaiśampāyana) marks a moment of recognition and convergence in the episode.
