Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
चुक्रोध यक्षाधिपतिर्युज्यतामिति चाब्रवीत् । भीमने यह दूसरा अपराध किया है, यह सुनकर धनाध्यक्ष यक्षराजके क्रोधकी सीमा न रही। उन्होंने तुरंत आज्ञा दी, 'रथ जोतकर ले आओ'
cukrodha yakṣādhipatir yujyatām iti cābravīt |
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Hearing that Bhīma had committed yet another offence, the lord of the Yakṣas—guardian of wealth—was overcome with anger. He immediately issued the command, “Harness (the chariot)!”—signaling swift readiness to respond to the wrongdoing and to uphold order.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Wrongdoing invites immediate consequences, especially when it disrupts social and moral order. The verse highlights the ruler’s duty to respond decisively, while also warning that uncontrolled anger can drive swift, forceful action.
The narrator Vaiśaṃpāyana reports that the Yakṣa-lord, hearing of Bhīma’s repeated offence, becomes furious and orders that the chariot be harnessed—preparing to act at once.
