भुज्जाना मुनिभोज्यानि रसवन्ति फलानि च,वे हिमालयके शिखरपर निवास करते हुए मुनियोंके खानेयोग्य सरस फलोंका और नाना प्रकारके पवित्र (बिना हिंसाके प्राप्त) मधुका भी भोजन करते थे। इस प्रकार भरतश्रेष्ठ पाण्डव वहाँ निवास करते थे
bhujjānā munibhojyāni rasavanti phalāni ca | himālayake śikharopari nivasantaḥ munīnām bhojanīyāni sarasāni phalāni nānāvidhaṃ ca pavitraṃ (ahiṃsāprāptaṃ) madhukaṃ bhojayantaḥ | evaṃ bharataśreṣṭha pāṇḍavāḥ tatra nyavasan ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Dwelling upon the peaks of the Himalaya, they sustained themselves on juicy fruits fit for sages to eat, and on various kinds of pure honey obtained without violence. Thus the Pāṇḍavas, foremost among the Bharatas, lived there—maintaining a disciplined, non-injurious way of life even in exile.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even in hardship, the Pāṇḍavas uphold dharma through restraint and ahiṃsā—living on simple, pure foods (fruits and non-violently obtained honey) appropriate to ascetic surroundings.
The narrator describes the Pāṇḍavas residing on the Himalayan heights during their forest period, sustaining themselves on sage-appropriate fruits and pure honey, emphasizing their disciplined mode of life in exile.
