Bhīma–Hanūmān Dialogue on Yugas (युगवर्णनम्)
वैशम्पायन उवाच विज्ञाय तं बलोन्मत्तं बाहुवीर्येण दर्पितम् | हृदयेनावहस्यैनं हनूमान् वाक्यमब्रवीत्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं-जनमेजय! भीमसेनको बलके अभिमानसे उन्मत्त तथा अपनी भुजाओंके पराक्रमसे घमंडमें भरा हुआ जान हनुमानजीने मन-ही-मन उनका उपहास करते हुए उनसे इस प्रकार कहा
vaiśampāyana uvāca vijñāya taṃ balonmattaṃ bāhuvīryeṇa darpitam | hṛdayenāvahasyainaṃ hanūmān vākyam abravīt |
Vaiśampāyana said: Recognizing Bhīmasena to be intoxicated with strength and puffed up with pride in the prowess of his arms, Hanūmān—smiling inwardly at him—addressed him with these words. The scene frames a moral correction: raw power, when mixed with arrogance, invites gentle but firm instruction from one who truly knows strength and restraint.
