आक्रीडमानो हृष्टात्मा श्रीमान् वायुसुतो ययौ । प्रियामनोरथं कर्तुमुद्यतश्चारुलोचन:,निम्नगामिनी नदियोंसे निकला हुआ क्षोभरहित जल नीचेकी ओर इस प्रकार बह रहा था, मानो उस पर्वतका वस्त्र खिसककर गिरा जाता हो। भयसे अपरिचित और स्वस्थ हरिण मुँहमें हरे घासका कौर लिये पास ही खड़े होकर भीमसेनकी ओर कौतूहलभरी दृष्टिसे देख रहे थे। उस समय मनोहर नेत्रोंवाले शोभाशाली वायुपुत्र भीम अपने महान् वेगसे अनेक लतासमूहोंको विचलित करते हुए हर्षपूर्ण हृदयसे खेल-सा करते जा रहे थे। वे अपनी प्रिया द्रौपदीका प्रिय मनोरथ पूर्ण करनेको सर्वथा उद्यत थे

Vaiśampāyana said: Delighting as though at play, his heart uplifted, the illustrious son of Vāyu went on. With beautiful eyes and radiant presence, Bhīma was fully resolved to fulfill the cherished wish of his beloved (Draupadī)—his exuberant energy expressing itself as confident, fearless action in service of her desire.
