Hearing those words of the great-souled Lomasha, the Pāṇḍavas, with minds disciplined and reverent, offered their salutations to the divine Gaṅgā that flows from the heavens (Alakanandā). The scene underscores the ethic of humility before sacred places and the purifying power of pilgrimage-guided conduct.

The verse highlights dharmic humility: after receiving guidance from a sage, one should respond with self-restraint and reverence toward sacred realities (tīrthas and holy rivers), recognizing their role in moral purification and right conduct.
Lomasha speaks, and the Pāṇḍavas, moved by his words, respectfully salute the heavenly Gaṅgā—identified here with Alakanandā—marking a moment within their pilgrimage where instruction leads immediately to devotional action.
