All of them have gone from here to see Varuṇa’s sacrifice, and now they are returning again. I honor Aṣṭāvakra, that venerable Brahmin worthy of reverence—for it is because of him that I shall be reunited with my father.
अष्टावक्र उवाच
The verse highlights gratitude and dharmic reverence: one should honor the truly venerable—especially a wise Brahmin/teacher—recognizing that benefactors can become the cause of restoration, reconciliation, and rightful reunion.
Those who had gone to witness Varuṇa’s sacrifice are returning. The speaker expresses respect for the sage Aṣṭāvakra, acknowledging that through Aṣṭāvakra’s agency he will be able to meet his father again.
