कालकेयैर्महाकायै: समन्तादभिरक्षितम्‌ । समुद्यतप्रहरणै: सशृज्जैरिव पर्वतैः

Transliteration

kālakeyair mahākāyaiḥ samantād abhirakṣitam | samudyatapraharaṇaiḥ saśṛṅgair iva parvataiḥ ||

Translation

It was guarded on every side by the Kālakeya demons—huge of body—standing with weapons raised, like horned mountains poised to strike. The verse heightens the sense of peril: brute force and vigilant hostility surround the scene, testing the resolve and right conduct of those who must face such intimidation.
