Saṃsāra-Gahana Allegory: The Brāhmaṇa in the Forest and Well (संसारगहन-आख्यान)

na ca niryāti vai dūraṃ na vā tair vipramocyate |

Vidura says: “He could not get far away at all, nor could he be freed from them.” The line conveys the helplessness of one trapped by violent forces—when fear and pursuit close in, mere flight without refuge, strategy, or inner steadiness does not bring release.

Educational Q&A

When one is surrounded by harmful forces, panic-driven escape alone may not bring safety; liberation requires a wiser course—seeking protection, right counsel, and steadiness rather than mere flight.

Vidura describes a person being pursued: he cannot run far from the danger, and the pursuers do not release him—highlighting an inescapable, tightening threat.
