Pacification of Gāndhārī and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel at Hāstinapura
śibiraṃ samanuprāpya kururājasya pāṇḍavāḥ | avaterur mahārāja rathebhyo rathasattamāḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Having reached the camp of the Kuru king, O great king, the Pāṇḍavas—foremost among chariot-warriors—alighted from their chariots. The verse marks a deliberate pause in the movement of war: arrival, dismounting, and readiness, suggesting disciplined conduct even amid hostility.
