अथ पश्चात् ततः कृष्णो रश्मीनुत्सृज्य वाजिनाम् । अवारोहत मेधावी रथाद् गाण्डीवधन्चन:,वीर पाण्डुपुत्र अर्जुनने वह सब वैसे ही किया। तदनन्तर परम बुद्धिमान् भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण घोड़ोंकी बागडोर छोड़कर गाण्डीवधारी अर्जुनके रथसे स्वयं भी उतर पड़े
atha paścāt tataḥ kṛṣṇo raśmīn utsṛjya vājinām | avārohat medhāvī rathād gāṇḍīvadhanañjayaḥ ||
Then, after that, Kṛṣṇa—releasing the reins of the horses—alighted from the chariot. The wise Gāṇḍīva-bearing Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) also descended from the chariot. The scene underscores disciplined action at the close of a critical moment in battle: even amid violence, the leaders act with composure, restraint, and responsibility toward their charge (the horses and the chariot).
संजय उवाच
Even in the aftermath of intense conflict, the leaders act with steadiness and responsibility—releasing the reins and dismounting in an orderly way—suggesting self-control, mindful closure of action, and care for what is entrusted to them.
Sañjaya reports that Kṛṣṇa lets go of the horses’ reins and gets down from the chariot; Arjuna, the Gāṇḍīva-bearer Dhanañjaya, also dismounts, marking a transition in the battle episode.
