Sañjaya said: Seeing him, the Pāṇḍavas—together with Keśava (Kṛṣṇa)—were filled with great joy. Approaching him, they respectfully received him, touched his feet, and honored him in due ceremonial manner. The scene underscores the ethic of reverence and proper conduct (maryādā) even amid the pressures of war.

Educational Q&A

Even in a battlefield setting, dharma expresses itself through disciplined respect—approaching elders or honored persons properly, offering traditional courtesies, and maintaining moral order (maryādā) through correct conduct (vidhi).

Sañjaya reports that the Pāṇḍavas, accompanied by Kṛṣṇa, see an important person arrive; they become very pleased, go forward to meet him, touch his feet, and honor him with formal, rule-based hospitality.
