इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत कर्णपर्वमें कौरवयेनाका पलायनविषयक तिरानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
Iti prakāraḥ Śrīmahābhārate Karṇaparvaṇi Kauravayenākā-palāyana-viṣayakaḥ trinavaty-adhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ abhavat.
Sañjaya said: Thus, in the revered Mahābhārata, within the Karṇa Parva, the ninety-fourth chapter—concerning the flight of the Kaurava army—comes to its close. The closing formula underscores the moral weight of the battlefield: when resolve collapses and fear overtakes discipline, even a mighty host turns to retreat, revealing the fragility of power when dharma and leadership falter.

As a chapter-colophon, the verse highlights a recurring ethical insight of the Mahābhārata: military strength is unstable when courage, discipline, and righteous leadership break down; retreat becomes a visible sign of inner collapse and moral disarray in war.
Sañjaya marks the conclusion of the chapter in the Karṇa Parva, stating that the chapter’s subject was the Kaurava army’s flight/retreat, and formally closes the ninety-fourth adhyāya.
