ममापि मान: परम: सदा त्वयि ब्रवीम्यतस्त्वां परमाच्च सौहदात्‌ । निवारयिष्यामि च कर्णमप्यहं यदा भवान्‌ सप्रणयो भविष्यति,“तुम्हारे प्रति मेरे मनमें भी सदा बड़े आदरका भाव रहा है। हम दोनोंकी जो घनिष्ठ मित्रता है, उसीके कारण मैं तुमसे यह प्रस्ताव करता हूँ। यदि तुम प्रेमपूर्वक राजी हो जाओगे तो मैं कर्णको भी युद्धसे रोक दूँगा

Transliteration

mamāpi mānaḥ paramaḥ sadā tvayi bravīmy atas tvāṁ paramāc ca sauhṛdāt | nivārayiṣyāmi ca karṇam apy ahaṁ yadā bhavān sapraṇayo bhaviṣyati |

Translation

Sañjaya said: “I too have always held you in the highest esteem. Therefore, out of our deepest friendship, I speak this to you as a proposal: if you will consent with goodwill and affection, then I will restrain even Karṇa from the war.”
