“Look, O hero, at Janārdana’s discus, stationed at his side—radiant like the sun, with a thunderbolt-like hub and razor-edged rim. Behold that wheel-weapon of Keśava, the increaser of his fame, ever worshipped by the Yādavas.” In the ethical frame of the war, the verse underscores that divine power is not mere force but a sanctified instrument aligned with protection and righteous order, inspiring awe and restraint in those who witness it.
विशोक उवाच
The verse presents Kṛṣṇa’s discus as a sanctified emblem of divine authority: power that is revered, disciplined, and oriented toward upholding righteous order rather than mere violence. Its worship by the Yādavas signals that true strength is inseparable from reverence and responsibility.
In the midst of the battlefield setting, Viśoka directs a warrior’s attention to Kṛṣṇa beside Arjuna, pointing out the sun-bright Sudarśana discus at Kṛṣṇa’s side and emphasizing its formidable features and its honored status among the Yādavas.
