युक्त तत्त्वं च संचिन्त्य नोत्तरं किंचिदब्रवीत् । महाराज! उनके ऐसा कहनेपर द्रोणपुत्र मुसकराने-सा लगा। इनका कथन युक्तियुक्त तथा यथार्थ है, ऐसा सोचकर उसने कुछ उत्तर नहीं दिया
yukta-tattvaṃ ca saṃcintya nottaraṃ kiñcid abravīt |
Having reflected that the point was well-reasoned and true to the facts, he gave no reply at all. O King, when those words were spoken, Droṇa’s son seemed to smile; judging the statement to be sound and accurate, he remained silent.
(युधिष्टिर उवाच
A measured response grounded in truth and sound reasoning can render argument unnecessary; recognizing a statement as both logical (yukta) and factual (tattva) may call for restraint, even silence, rather than reactive speech.
After Yudhiṣṭhira’s remark, Droṇa’s son (Aśvatthāmā) appears to smile. Considering the remark to be reasonable and true, he chooses not to offer any counter-reply and remains silent.
