त्रिपुरदाह-इतिहासः

Tripura-destruction exemplum and counsel to Śalya

शाकुनिं तु तत: षष्टया विव्याध भरतर्षभ । सारथिं त्रिभिरानर्छत्तं च भूयो व्यविध्यत,भरतश्रेष्ठ) उसने शकुनिपुत्र उलूकको साठ बाणोंसे बेध दिया और तीन बाणोंसे उसके सारथिको पीड़ित किया। तत्पश्चात्‌ उसे और भी घायल कर दिया

śākunīṁ tu tataḥ ṣaṣṭyā vivyādha bharatarṣabha | sārathiṁ tribhir ānarchat taṁ ca bhūyo vyavidhyat ||

Sañjaya said: Then, O bull among the Bharatas, he pierced Śakuni’s son Ulūka with sixty arrows; with three arrows he struck and distressed his charioteer, and thereafter he wounded Ulūka still further. The scene underscores the relentless, escalating violence of the battlefield, where skill and resolve are exercised without respite, even as the moral weight of destruction continues to accumulate.
