Tripura-destruction exemplum and counsel to Śalya

tān nirjitya raṇe rājann ulūkas tvarito yayau | pāñcālān sṛñjayāṁś caiva vinighnan niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ||

Sañjaya said: O King, having defeated them in the battle, Ulūka swiftly advanced toward the Pāñcālas and the Sṛñjayas, striking them down with keen, sharp arrows. The scene underscores the relentless momentum of war, where victory immediately turns into further aggression, intensifying the moral weight of violence and the suffering it spreads across allied ranks.
