Sātyaki’s resolve and departure to reach Arjuna

Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: “Seeing this outcome now come to fruition, I think my sons are lamenting. For they behold my army overwhelmed—crushed by Śaineya (Sātyaki) and by Arjuna.”
The verse highlights the inevitability of consequences: when destructive choices mature into results (phalanirvṛtti), even the powerful must face grief and loss. Dhṛtarāṣṭra recognizes the bitter fruition of the war as his forces are overwhelmed.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra, hearing reports of the battle, reflects that his sons are likely mourning because the Kaurava army is being overpowered by Sātyaki (Śaineya) and Arjuna.
