Sātyaki’s Assurance and the Protection of Dharmarāja (सात्यकिवचनम्—धर्मराजरक्षणविचारः)

Sañjaya said: Arjuna—the slayer of enemy hosts—set out, intent on killing the Saindhava (Jayadratha). Accompanied by Sātyaki and Śrī Kṛṣṇa, he shone like Indra going to the Tārakāmaya war together with Varuṇa and Mitra. The verse frames Arjuna’s resolve as a righteous, focused mission within the larger chaos of battle: a targeted act meant to answer grave wrongdoing and uphold the warriors’ pledged duty.
