Sañjaya said: He was the creator of the streams of waters and the supreme primal ground of the earth; the sustaining source for gods, Dānavas, Yakṣas, and human beings. Indeed, he was the first cause of the universe—the world-creator, unborn, sovereign, imperishable: the foremost cause behind the arising of mind; of the nature of space and wind; the support of fire; the producer of waters; and the highest cause even of the earth. He was the supreme refuge of all yogic disciplines, the manifest treasure to the knowers of Brahman, the one who brings forth and withdraws the moving and unmoving world, and who reveals the majesty of Indra and the radiance of the Sun. In his wrath dwelt Time itself. Then Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa worshipped him with mind, speech, intellect, and action.
