Dhrishtadyumna Boards Droṇa’s Chariot; Sātyaki’s Counter-Protection

sañjaya uvāca tataḥ sandhyām upāsyāiva vīro vīrāvasādane | kathayantau raṇe vṛttaṃ prayātā ratham āsthitau ||

Sañjaya said: Then, having duly performed the twilight worship, the two heroes—upon that battlefield which brings down heroes—mounted their chariot again and moved on, conversing about what had occurred in the fight. The verse underscores that even amid violence and exhaustion, they pause for prescribed devotion, holding to discipline and duty while continuing the grim work of war.
