धृष्टद्युम्नस्य द्रोणरथारोহণं सात्यकेः प्रतिरक्षणं च | Dhrishtadyumna Boards Droṇa’s Chariot; Sātyaki’s Counter-Protection

अधाक्षं तानहं क्रूरांस्तदा सर्वान्‌ महारथान्‌ | “श्रीकृष्ण! आपने रणक्षेत्रमें ही यह बात मुझसे क्यों नहीं बता दी? मैं उसी समय उन समस्त क़ूर महारथियोंको जलाकर भस्म कर डालता” || ६४ $ || संजय उवाच पुत्रशोकार्दितं पार्थ ध्यायन्तं साश्रुलोचनम्‌,संजय कहते हैं--महाराज! इस प्रकार अर्जुनको पुत्रशोकसे पीड़ित और उसीका चिन्तन करते हुए नेत्रोंसे आँसू बहाते देख भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णने उन्हें पकड़कर सँभाला। वे पुत्रवियोगके कारण होनेवाली गहरी मनोव्यथामें डूबे हुए थे और तीव्र शोक उन्हें संतप्त कर रहा था। भगवान्‌ बोले--'मित्र! ऐसे व्याकूुल न होओ

sañjaya uvāca — putraśokārditaṃ pārthaṃ dhyāyantaṃ sāśrulocanam |

Sañjaya said: O King, seeing Pārtha (Arjuna) afflicted by grief for his son—absorbed in brooding over him and with tear-filled eyes—Śrī Kṛṣṇa took hold of him and steadied him. Overwhelmed by the deep inner anguish born of separation from his child, Arjuna was being scorched by intense sorrow; and the Lord addressed him as a friend, urging him not to be so distraught.
