Sañjaya said: “A grievous act of adharma has indeed been committed—how could it possibly remain without its due consequence? The fruit of your sinful deed will come to you swiftly; you have done a terrible wrong, so how could there be much delay in its result?”

Severe adharma cannot remain consequence-free; moral causality (karma-phala) is inevitable, and grievous wrongdoing tends to ripen into results swiftly.
Sañjaya, narrating events to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, underscores that a terrible unrighteous act has been committed in the war context and warns that its painful result will soon be experienced by the perpetrators.
